Fiber Optic Cable Products

Fiber optic cables are of a technology that uses glass (or plastic) threads (fibers) to transmit data. A fiber optic cable consists of a bundle of glass threads, each of which is capable of transmitting messages modulated onto light waves. Fiber optics has several advantages over traditional metal communications lines :
- Greater bandwidth than metal cables (up to gigabytes)
- Less susceptible than metal cables to interference
- Much thinner and lighter than metal wires
- Data can be transmitted as Digital or Analog
Fiber optics is a particularly popular technology for local-area networks. In addition, telephone companies are steadily replacing traditional telephone lines with fiber optic cables. In the future, almost all communications will employ fiber optics.
The most common fiber connector types are FC, ST, SC, LC and MTRJ. Fiber optic cables are listed in Meters (where 1 Meter = 3.28 feet). Our cables can be ordered with standard, plenum, outdoor (waterproof) or armored jacketing types. When ordering fiber optic cables, one must know how many strands (fiber connectors) per side. This can be Simplex (one connector per end), Duplex (two connectors per end), or multi strand (many connectors per end). We sell 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 24, 48, and 72 strand fiber optic cables. We sell Singlemode or Multimode fiber optic cables. Singlemode cables are 9/125 micron fiber and Multimode cables are 50/125, 50/125 10 Gigabit and 62.5/125 micron. With our custom orders we also sell fiber optic cables with various colors and custom lengths that are not shown online. Please contact us for a price quote on any items not shown online.
